I had my wisdom teeth extracted on Monday. I am not going to lie... it hurt like hell. I am still miserable. The first couple days I was so nauseous I couldn't even keep my limited liquid diet down. Now I am headed back to the dentist this afternoon because I think I might have one dry socket. I have no idea what that means or why they call it that but I am pissed. I did everything I was supposed to do. Yet, I am still in pain and still on so doped up on painkillers that I fell asleep for an hour this morning. Home alone with 3 kids 5 and under and I fell asleep for an hour! Um, hello! I can't be doing that. Maybe along with my wisdom those teeth also contained my common sense! SO, anyway I hope the dentist has answers for me cuz I am ready for this to be over!!!

OUch! I had mine out, took one pill and slept for 16 hours. Thank God I didn't have kids then or else someone would have been calling CPS on me! I hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon, Katie! Dry sockets stink!
ReplyDeleteOh hell that blows! I'm so scared of having mine cut out and that's why I havent been to the dentist in ages! Not a good thing but I'm a wussy and that's just how it is. I wish you the best and hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteYou poor thing.. Praying it gets better soon.
ReplyDeleteKatie, hope you feel better very SOON! I know the feeling of trying to function while in pain and taking care of 3 kiddos. I know it's already done, but I researched when I had my wisdom teeth out back in January and dry sockets can be prevented by the way the dentists lifts the tooth out. My dentist was awesome and I actually heard him use the terms to his assistant of elevating the teeth while extracting mine! The only issue I had was that I could not take the pain medicine, it knocked me out! Just FYI for anyone in your family who may have it done.
