Reagan is Sick

So I think that Reagan has officially got the flu. She started puking around 5:30 this morning. I was so proud of her, she actually woke herself up and went to the bathroom. She came and got me to flush it but still she did great. The next one wasn't so lucky, and now I am washing her sheets. But what a little trooper she is. She started having diarrhea about 10:30 and she still has a smile on her face. I set her up a little makeshift bed in our room on the floor w/ a bowl next to her. This morning Jack seems to want to stay close to her. He is trying to comfort her and it is so sweet. I just hope he doesn't get sick again himself. So now I am just doing the laundry and trying to re-sanitize everything in the house. Wish me luck!

Tri Kappa Style Show

Today Reagan and I went to the Tri Kappa Spring Style Show, where Nini had asked her to model clothes. This was right up her alley! Any performance related activity and Reagan is in her element. She walked the runway and then danced her way back to the dressing room. She had a great time. She also wore a pretty cream and floral dress but I didn't get any good pictures of it. So here she is showing off the clothes and then afterwards eating w/ Nini. As for the rest of the clan I think we are recovered from the flu. Thankfully Jack and Dee are the only ones who got sick and it only lasted about six hours for each of them. So as long as nobody pukes today I'd say we are in the clear. Have a great week!

Got Flu?

Just wanted to take a minute to let everyone know that last night Jack started throwing up @ about 8 and didn't stop until about 1. Then today Dee Dee got it. I hope that it doesn't pass it's way through everyone. My youngest sister Valesca was here when Jack was sick and she asked me how I could clean up Jack's puke w/out having to puke myself. I told her I think God gives moms some sort of special gives that allows them to lose their gag reflex when it is their own child's throw up. I don't know exactly what it is, but there has to be something. Somehow I am able to get it cleaned up. Hopefully they will all be on the mend soon! I can't wait for spring!

The Post Office

Today Reagan's class took a field trip to the post office. To be honest I think it was my favorite field trip yet! I am always amazed at how fast mail can seem to travel and how precise it usually is even though it exchanges hands so many times. It was interesting so see how it all gets sorted and how it gets where it needs to go. The kids had fun too, they all bought their own stamps and mailed letters to themselves so they can see exactly how it works. Reagan's letter should arrive by tomorrow. Here are some pictures from the trip. That is Reagan's friend Izzy who rode in our car today. Usually she is shy and quiet, but today she and Reagan talked the all the way to the post office and the entire ride back to school! The rest of the pictures are of Reagan mailing her letter, which she did all by herself. Maybe I'll let her pay the bills this month! :) Hope everyone has a great weekend, check in w/ us again!

Happy Birthday Grandma Aura!

Today is "Audi's" birthday. Her name is actually Aura but most of the kids can't say that, so they improvise. This is a picture of her w/ cousin Diego. All the babies love Audi! There is something about her that they are just drawn to. She always has a necklace for them to chew on, usually el corazon (the heart) and her arms are always open and waiting for them. So, Happy Birthday Aura we are glad to have you in our lives!

Spring at Last!!!

I have officially decided that I blog too much! However, I could not help but post some of the pictures that I took of the kids last night. Can you believe it was 50 degrees outside yesterday? It finally felt like spring. So, I chose to forget that is supposed to snow today and bask in the glory of taking the kids outside. They were so excited to be out in the fresh air! Chris and I took the opportunity to clean out the garage and the girls happily rode their bikes, blew bubbles and played w/ sidewalk chalk. Jack, who unfortunately was afraid of the baby swing, discovered rocks. He thought they were the greatest things. Pick it up, show it to mommy, and then throw it on the ground! Who knew something so simple could be so entertaining? Somehow I didn't manage to get any photos of Dee Dee, but trust me she had just as much fun. Hopefully spring is here to stay! Enjoy it while it lasts!

New Header!

Okay so, I realized that I was not capable of creating the look that I wanted on my blog so I enlisted the help of my friend Leah. She helped me create this header which I love and I think I am happy w/ it for now. Unfortunately I have always considered myself computer illiterate, even though I do think I am getting better. Don't ask me how she did it b/c I don't have a clue! So no more changes for now at least. let me know what you think!

Hugs!

For some reason right now Dee Dee and Jack are really into giving each other hugs. It started last week @ church and hasn't stopped. Sometimes Dee gets a little overzealous and squeezes his neck too tight but he doesn't seem to mind. I don't know why he likes it so much , maybe he has just realized that this is a good way to show his affection. He has also gotten very good at giving kisses lately too, but he is still very stingy w/them. He loves the hugs though. I say keep 'em coming. I see enough of my kids fighting and wrestling w/ each other I'm happy to take a few hugs now and then.

Happy Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary to my in-laws Tim and Lili! 32 years ago today they were married! I have always found it very inspirational that in this day and age both Chris' and my parents are still happily married. I wish them many more years of wedded bliss. You are wonderful parents, in-laws, and grandparents! Love you both!

Jack's Hair

So, I have been thinking lately about buzzing all of Jack's hair off. He has crazy hair that requires de-tangler and gel to be managed every morning and then after his nap it looks crazy again. I thought it might make our Florida trip easier if I just didn't have to deal w/ it. Trust me getting the girls to allow me to do something w/ their hair everyday is enough of a battle. So, tell me what you think. I put a poll on the sidebar, so feel free to answer it and then maybe I'll be able to make a decision. The poll closes on Wednesday so I'll let everyone know after it's over!

Happy Easter... sorry it's late

What a long weekend! I hope everyone had a wonderful and blessed Easter! I had so many pictures to download off my camera tonight I had a hard time deciding which one to post. I chose this one simply b/c it captures my little man so well. Lately it seems w/ Jack one word comes to mind, ornery. I guess there are times when I forget how little he really is b/c he is such a good baby most of the time. But he has been getting into trouble a lot lately. For instance, I should take this opportunity to apologize on both of our behalves for the glass that he broke @ Nini's today. Sorry Nini, we'll all try and do a better job in the future! So, since it seems that Jack has decided to take advantage of the independence that I have given him and maybe I need to reel it in a little. But, I'm tired now and after such a long week I do hope that this one is less stress full! Good night all!

I LOVE Survivor and this is HILARIOUS!!!

THE NEXT SURVIVOR SERIES Six married men will be dropped on an island with one car and 3 kids each for six weeks. Each kid will play two sports and either take music or dance classes There is no fast food Each man must take care of his 3 kids, keep his assigned house clean, correct all homework and complete science projects, cook, do laundry, and pay a list of 'pretend' bills with not enough money. In addition, each man will have to budget in money for groceries each week. Each man must remember the birthdays of all their friends and relatives, and send cards out on time. Each man must also take each child to a doctor's appointment, a dentist appointment and a haircut appointment. He must make one unscheduled and inconvenient visit per child to the Urgent Care. He must also make cookies or cupcakes for a social function. Each man will be responsible for decorating his own assigned house, planting flowers outside and keeping it presentable at all times. The men will only have access to television when the kids are asleep and all chores are done. The men must shave their legs, wear makeup daily, adorn himself with jewelry, wear uncomfortable yet stylish shoes, keep fingernails polished and eyebrows groomed. During one of the six weeks, the men will have to endure severe abdominal cramps, back aches, and have extreme, unexplained mood swings but never once complain or slow down from other duties. They must attend weekly school meetings, church, and find time at; least once to spend the afternoon at the park or a similar setting. They will need to read a book and then pray with the children each night and in the morning feed them, dress them, brush their teeth and comb their hair by 7:00 am. A test will be given at the end of the six weeks, and each father will be required to know all of the following information: each child's birthday, height, weight, shoe size, clothes size and doctor's name. Also the child's weight at birth, length, time of birth, and length of labor, each child's favorite color, middle name, favorite snack, favorite song, favorite drink, favorite toy, biggest fear and what they want to be when they grow up. The kids vote them off the island based on performance. The last man wins only if...he still has enough energy to be intimate with his spouse at a moment's notice. If the last man does win, he can play the game over and over and over again for the next 18-25 years, eventually earning the right to be called Mother!

MEN!!!

Why is it that whenever my husband loses something it is somehow my fault? I was woken up this morning @ 5 a.m. b/c Chris couldn't find his keys. HE said he left them on the counter in the kitchen and they weren't there. "What did the kids do w/ them!" he wanted to know. Now I ask you, how is this my problem? His keys, his problem, right? No, wrong. Somehow this has b/c my life. It is my responsibility to take care of all of these little things that go wrong in Chris' life and fix them, and if possible prevent them from happening again. So, being that I did not want to get up, I told him to take my van and I would find his keys later. Then @ 8:30 he called, "did you find my keys yet?" No, I hadn't. So, @ 9 I finally got out of bed and began my search for his keys on the kitchen counter where he said he left them. It was there, under a paper Reagan had brought home from school yesterday that I found them. He really looked hard didn't he. If he had spent as much time looking for them as he did asking me where they were he probably would have found them himself and saved us both the stress! Ugh, MEN!!!

Changes

Okay so for those of you who may be checking in w/ me I am fooling around with a few things on my page. If you notice any changes feel free to leave me a comment and let me know what you think. I am really trying hard to teach my self new things.
